Duties of the officers

President
• Official representative of SLATSA for faculty and prospective students
• Coordinate all activities of SLATSA
• Organize SLAT Roundtable conference
• Call SLATSA meetings and prepare agenda
• Organize SLATSA elections
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Vice-President/Treasurer
• Dispense funds from SLATSA bank account
• Organize SLAT Roundtable conference
• Assume duties of president, when necessary
• Make active SLATSA recruitment efforts 
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Secretary
• Assist president and vice-president in coordination of SLATSA activities
• Write and disseminate minutes of SLATSA meetings
• Organize SLAT Roundtable conference
• Make active SLATSA recruitment efforts 
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Colloquium Organizers (team of 2)
• Work with faculty colloquium organizer
• Schedule and publicize colloquium events
• Send info and abstracts of weekly events to webmaster 
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Working Papers Managing Editors (team of 2)
• Find a faculty advisor
• Send out calls for papers
• Supervise first round of reviews
• Conduct final reviews of accepted papers
• Prepare manuscript for printing
• Work with webmaster to arrange posting of electronic version
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Analysis Area Representative
• Serve as Analysis area editor for the Working Papers
• Peer advisor
• Organize Analysis Day in fall
• Make suggestions for library acquistions 
• Gather and send news of the accomplishments of students in analysis to the SLAT research assistant for publication in the SLAT online newsletter
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Pedagogy Area Representative
• Serve as Pedagogy area editor for the Working Papers
• Peer advisor
• Organize Pedagogy Day in fall
• Make suggestions for library acquistions
• Gather and send news of the accomplishments of students in pedagogy to the SLAT research assistant for publication in the SLAT online newsletter
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Processes Area Representative
• Serve as Processes area editor for the Working Papers
• Peer advisor
• Organize Processes Day in fall
• Make suggestions for library acquistions 
• Gather and send news of the accomplishments of students in processes to the SLAT research assistant for publication in the SLAT online newsletter
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Use Area Representative
• Serve as Use area editor for the Working Papers
• Peer advisor
• Organize Use Day in fall
• Make suggestions for library acquistions 
• Gather and send news of the accomplishments of students in use to the SLAT research assistant for publication in the SLAT online newsletter
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Development Coordinators (team of 2)
• Maintain financial records of SLATSA
• Raise funds, apply for grants for year-round events and SLATSA/ SLAT activities
• Raise funds for special events 
• Attend SLATSA meetings


ExCo Representative (1 elected in Spring and 1 in Fall)
• Represent SLAT students at Executive Council meetings
• Write and disseminate minutes of ExCo meetings to SLATCOM
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Social Coordinators (team of 2)
• Write welcome letter to new students
• Recruit peer mentors (a peer mentoris a SLAT student who helps the new student to settle in academically and socially by providing a friendly and familiar face)
• Organize welcome party
• Help SLAT Director with official SLAT parties
• Suggest and coordinate other social events 
• Encourage involvement/make active SLATSA recruitment efforts
• Attend SLATSA meetings


SLATCOM Manager
• Forward selected emails from other listservs to SLATCOM (eg calls for papers and job announcements)
• Manage subscribers to SLATCOM
• Attend SLATSA meetings


Web Master
• Keep SLAT homepage updated (especially info about SLAT students)
• Keep SLATSA homepage updated (including Roundtable web page design and maintenance)
• Format and post SLATSA online newsletter with information collected by Area Representatives and the SLAT Research Assistant 
• Attend SLATSA meetings
