M.A. in English Language Teaching - Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University

Serdar is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching program at the University of Arizona. Before joining the program, he earned his M.A. in English Language Education and B.A. in English Language Teaching from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University in Türkiye. His academic and professional experiences have included teaching English, working with international pre-service language teachers in research projects, and working in the field of generative AI development and evaluation.

Serdar's research interests center on technology-enhanced language education and informal language learning. He is particularly interested in using qualitative research methodologies to explore learner agency, teacher roles, and learning design, as well as how learners' interests and experiences shape their engagement with technology and relate to their identities.

Serdar is also a recipient of the 2025 Fulbright Ph.D. Award. Outside of academia, he enjoys going to the gym, exploring new places, spending time with friends, and enjoying a good novel.
